How DuelPredict Works

Pick NFL winners each week or NHL winners each day, or compare teams across a full season with the original duels.

NFL & NHL game picks

Pick real games. Start with one.

Game picks are separate from the original season duels explained below.

One pick is enough

Choose a winner in any scheduled regular-season NFL or NHL game. No account or completed card is required. You can change your pick until that game’s start; closed picks never reopen. NFL uses weekly cards. NHL uses Eastern-date slates, with game times shown in your local timezone.

A record in this browser

Completed game scores determine wins and losses. NHL overtime and shootout winners count. NFL ties are pushes; cancelled games are void. Schedules and final results refresh daily, not live. Delayed games stay pending.

Keep your browser data

Separate random keys in this browser retrieve your server-saved NFL and NHL picks. Clearing them loses access to each record. Signing in does not sync game picks across devices or add them to the season leaderboard.

Four steps

Build a season prediction

One team comparison at a time—without pretending a sparse card is a full league table.

01

Choose a sport

NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB each have a separate season competition and leaderboard.

02

Pick the better season

Select a team and the next duel loads. Unanswered cards can be skipped and revisited.

03

Review every choice

Use Duel history to switch a pick with one click before the competition locks.

04

Submit and compare

Sign in, submit a complete official card, then compare ratings and room standings.

Same card, personal presentation

Complete the official card

NFL and NHL cards contain 48 official duels. NBA and MLB cards contain 45.

One shared pair set

Every ranked predictor receives the same underlying official pair set. The pairing sequence and left/right presentation may differ, but the competition does not.

Clear forward controls

The forward control says Skip while a duel is unanswered and Next after you choose. Previous always revisits the prior duel.

Guest drafts stay safe

Guest picks remain on this device until you decide to sign in. Import happens as one validated card; an existing saved choice is kept unless you explicitly replace it.

Postseason first

Understand the outcome

Furthest postseason stage wins. A regular-season result breaks a same-stage tie; an exact tie is a push.

NFL

Wild Card, Divisional—including a Divisional bye—Conference, runner-up, champion.

NBA

Play-In, First Round, Conference Semifinals, Conference Finals, runner-up, champion.

NHL

First Round, Second Round, Conference Finals, runner-up, champion.

MLB

Wild Card, Division Series—including a Division Series bye—LCS, runner-up, champion.

Stage decides

Deeper run wins

The Bills reach the Divisional Round and the Dolphins miss the playoffs. The Bills win the duel.

Record decides

Same stage, better season

Both teams exit at the same stage. The team with the better regular-season result wins.

Exact tie

Neither side loses

Same postseason stage and identical regular-season result: the duel is a push.

Transparent score

Duel Rating

Only decided official duels count.

Duel Rating = (wins − losses) ÷ (wins + losses)

Pushes, pending duels, void duels, and extra duels are excluded from the denominator. Ratings run from −1.000 to +1.000. Higher is better; equal ratings share a rank. Community tables show the complete record as W–L–P.

Personal, provisional

Build your season order honestly

More linked duels make the result more stable.

Connected teams only

The season-order panel shows the largest group connected by completed duels. It deliberately does not pretend that one duel creates a full league table.

Continue dueling

Optional extra duels connect more teams and refine your provisional order. They never change your official Duel Rating.

One ranking rule

Your choices create head-to-head edges. DuelPredict orders the connected group and uses the original team order only to break exact ties.

Exact and server enforced

Locks, leaderboards, and privacy

The displayed deadline is converted to your local time; the server enforces the underlying UTC instant.

No late entry

Official and extra picks lock at the first regular-season kickoff, tipoff, puck drop, or first pitch. Saved cards remain available for read-only review.

Public standings

Only qualified official cards enter the public predictor leaderboard. Extra duels do not affect public or room standings.

Private rooms

Rooms compare qualified official cards among invited members. Invite codes and membership remain private; rooms do not create a second set of picks.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to start?

No. Pick as a guest, then sign in with your shared TablePredict account when you are ready to submit.

Can I change a pick?

Yes. Open Duel history and choose the other team before the competition locks.

Do extra duels change my rating?

No. They refine only your provisional season order and may contribute to aggregate Duel Consensus.

What happens if my device card conflicts with my account?

Your saved account choice is preserved. DuelPredict shows the conflict and lets you explicitly choose the device version.
